Our History
Since 2017, Lomeki has published numerous significant works about the cultural monuments of Khevi. The organization established two ethnographic festivals, “Gaibotnoba” and “Truso”, aimed at raising awareness about the restoration and rehabilitation of cultural heritage sites.
Lomeki is actively engaged in preserving the unique cultural and natural heritage of the Truso Valley:
Since 2021, Lomeki has focused on the enforcement of the Truso Valley Protected Landscape law. This involves raising public interest in the challenges facing the valley, increasing awareness among local communities and stakeholders, and promoting their active involvement.
Environmental Initiatives: Lomeki actively participates in discussions of project documentation for hydropower plants and large infrastructure projects under the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) procedures outlined in the Environmental Assessment Code.
On November 16, 2023, at the Community Leaders Forum, Lomeki won the “Best Community Initiative” category. The forum is organized annually by the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia (CSRDG) to support community organizations and create a platform for sharing experiences and fostering dialogue among activists in Georgia.

Lomeki and Heritage Platform
Since 2023, Lomeki is member of the network "Heritage Platform" which unites organizations working in the field of cultural heritage protection, and within the framework of the mentioned cooperation in 2023 a two-day expedition was jointly organized in Truso valley, as a result, the report and recommendations of the expedition were shared with Lomeki.
