A recently completed project has been instrumental in advocating for the preservation of Truso Valley’s historical and natural heritage. This initiative sought to underscore the valley’s cultural importance, which includes over 20 historic settlements, while addressing pressing threats such as land appropriation, damage to monuments, and the misuse of historical sites.

The project brought together local citizens and professionals, advocating for the creation of a management council as mandated by the 2021 Georgian law on Truso Protected Landscape management. It also called for a moratorium on land registration to prevent further damage until effective management systems could be implemented.

As a result of this effort, public awareness of Truso Valley’s heritage has increased, with key steps taken to ensure its preservation for future generations.
